Anna Bennech started the meeting by informing the members that the Commission for Statute and Bylaws had a meeting and drafted the first proposal to be discussed and voted by the academic committee, which the group received via email. Then, she presented the suggestions so that the members could glance at the main important topics to be debated at the next meeting, as there was no minimal quorum for any substantial decisions. Therefore, this topic should be addressed at the next monthly meeting.

Next, Anna Bennech proposed to have the December Monthly Meeting on December 17th due to the holidays season, which was voted and approved. For the next meeting, all the areas should present a short report on 2021 activities. Moreover, we will also debate next year’s structured planning and regular attendance at monthly meetings.

Communication and PR Updates

Claudia Pires presented the group with the latest numbers of BRaS’s social media, mainly showing all the impact of BRaS-Blog Special Editions and highlighting the improvement in Twitter and Instagram numbers. Moreover, she informed the group that the department has a new PR & press office intern, who will support the analysis of the internal PR questionnaire. For that, Claudia will send the questionnaire next week, and it was agreed that all the members should answer it by December 2021. Finally, Claudia informed that Plataforma 9 has featured BRaS-J’s call for papers and asked the members to share other portals that could be interesting for BRaS.

Matheus Zago presented an overview on the number of the website, pointing out the increased numbers for accesses and reading time; Brazilian audience has decreased, and USA one has grown. He has highlighted that all members have access to this information, including Google Analytics. Most of our audience comes from Instagram, Twitter, and Open Journal Directory. Zago informed that he is still working on including BRaS-Blog in Google Scholar.

BRaS-Blog

Matheus Hebling commented on BRaS-Blog’s current status of publications, informing the members there was a severe decrease in submissions. Moreover, he suggested adding a button to the BRaS-Blog homepage [“publish”], and Matheus Zago asked for some links with examples and said he could work on it.

The group has discussed some ideas to improve the blog submissions and attract more audience, such as more special editions and closer work with the research groups. Finally, Matheus Hebling suggested blog vacations, and the group discussed them without making a final decision on the topic.

Research Groups

There was no update regarding the research groups.

He has especially recognized Thaís Martins’ efforts to the work on the journal. Lastly, he informed that the workshop to present BRaS-J’s platform will take place on December 11th, and he will send a Doodle to the members to decide on the best time.
