- Jayane Maia is a doctoral student in Political Science at the University of Hamburg and a research fellow at the GIGA, where she integrates the Institute for Latin American Studies since 2018. She holds a Master’s degree in Sociology from the University of Brasília in Brazil. She worked at different institutions as a research assistant: the University of Lisbon, the Institute for Applied Economic Research (IPEA), and the Brazilian Secretariat of Human Rights of the Presidency of the Republic. She has published in journals such as Teoria & Pesquisa, Política & Sociedade, Revista Eletrônica de Ciência Política, Paraná Eleitoral, e Relações Internacionais R.I.
- Research topics: Elections; Party systems; Political parties; Political institutions; and local politics.
